The History of American Graffiti – Available Now

A graff artists’ manual, could describe this encyclopedia of the art form known to many as graffiti. Releasing recently, and currently on sale at Amazon, the greatest collection of the graffiti movement all compiled in one book. One reviewer has gone as far to say, “The History of American Graffiti is the first truly comprehensive history of graffiti’s secretive, illegal culture.”

The U.S. Court System vs. Time Warner and The People

A U.S. court judge has laid down a verdict relevant to all of those who have decided to download your favorite movies for simple viewing pleasure. The U.S. District Judge in Washington has ordered Time Warner to release nearly a thousand subscribers of their broadband network, who have downloaded movies illegally.

Time Warner is currently resisting the court order, which the company states involves “unfairly expensive and time-consuming [effort]”, on their end. There are bootleggers allowed to scour the trains, streets, and work areas but this order is attacking the average joe, who at most has downloaded 10-20 movies. School In 20th Century Russia

“Hey, teacher leave those kids alone!”, seems like a battle cry for the youth against the regime and a lot of us at one time or another could relate. The images of this 20th Century school in the Ukraine, may ignite memories of Bel-Air academy, and the Biology lab signals thoughts from the Harry Potter series. I highly doubt Hogwarts and the Fresh Prince will ever collide but their learning institutions are still superior to many of our own.

Ladies of French Monarchy

The beginning of style & grace started with royal families, even more by the Queens of the Kingdom in dynasties such as France. Before the Eiffel Tower, crispy French Fries, and America’s Next Top Model challenges there were French Monarchs who ruled the land and its possessions. Take a look at some of the fabulous decor on these original ladies, a true testament of time & style.

Russia ain’t nothing to mess with, let’s be glad they’re on our side for the time being. We’ve all seen movies with these versatile aircrafts, never this up close and personal though. Meet the real Far East Movement, no auto-tune or tacky attire allowed on base.

Ordynskaya Underwater Cave

The lost world of Atlantis, where ever it may be, is a spectacle in itself not to be outdone by the Ordynskaya Cave located in the Perm region of Russia. The marvel is located on the Kazakovskaya mountain steep, with an entrance 5m wide and 2m high. The cave is so vast many parts have still gone undiscovered even with the amounts of technology the world possesses today.

Affetto – Japanese Robot Baby Head

The video of this robotic child head is not of the Will Smith Sci-Fi thriller I, Robot, but actually the brainchild, no pun intended, of three Japanese researchers Hisashi Ishihara, Yuichiro Yoshikawa, and Prof. Minoru Asada of Osaka University in Japan. The robotic head is capable of conveying varying facial expressions displaying human emotions such as surprised, upset, and a lot more. This is accomplished with moving actuators behind the skin which is blended with tactile sensors to manipulate from human touch.

The creation is apart of a program to study child-caregiver interactions. With the goal of eventually creating a robot capable of performing perfect renditions of a complete human experience. Anxious to see further steps in this project, and if all doesn’t go so well I’m pretty sure the Fresh Prince will step in and take action.

Richard Hoschler – Organic Machines

Richard Hoschler is not the magician Houdini was, or the storyteller Aesop is known to be, but his work speaks volumes and the final product is always infallable. The pieces we showcase today defy the natural sense of art, yet compel viewers to take that further look into the mind of the artist. The work is completed with an assortment of materials conveying several forms of thought, symbolism, and concepts enforced by the artist.

Milan X Manhole Cover X Street Art

If you’re planning on an international travel expedition to Milan make sure to look around on the floor. Yes I said it, the actual streets are paved with artwork covering manholes from artists such as Shepard Fairy, Space Invader, Rendo, Flying Fortress, and The London Police. The usual shopping destination has received a piece of life from the Sopra Il Sotto campaign, translating to “under the above”, and has become a bit of spectacle.
